A journey across Sardinia from north to south, starting from the cliffs of Alghero and ending in the Mediterranean atmosphere of Cagliari. Along the way, you will encounter crystalline beaches and colorful villages like Bosa, unique archaeological sites such as Tharros and Barumini, and wild landscapes scented with Mediterranean scrub. Between tastings of Cannonau wine and pecorino cheese, you will discover the island’s authentic soul: a complete itinerary to experience its nature, history, and traditions from top to bottom.
Day #1: ALGHERO AIRPORT – ALGHERO
Independent arrival at Alghero Airport, car pick-up, and transfer to Alghero, the Catalan city.
Day #2: ASINARA ISLAND
In the morning, check-out and departure for Stintino to board the boat to Asinara Island, a protected natural paradise and former penal colony. On authorized jeeps, explore the island’s dirt roads, discovering unspoiled landscapes, turquoise coves, and close encounters with the iconic white donkeys. Overnight on the island, immersed in a setting of absolute peace.
Day #3: BOSA – ORISTANO
After check-out, return to the main island and depart for Bosa, one of Sardinia’s most picturesque villages. Its colorful houses reflect on the Temo River, while the Castle of Serravalle watches over from the hilltop. Stroll through charming streets and artisan shops before continuing to Oristano, a city with ancient roots, famous for the equestrian traditions of the Sartiglia. Hotel check-in and overnight stay.
Day #4: THARROS – SAN GIOVANNI DI SINIS – MARI D’EMI
A day dedicated to archaeology and the sea. Begin with a visit to the archaeological site of Tharros, an ancient Phoenician city. Continue with relaxation at Mari Ermi, famous for its white quartz sand and crystal-clear waters. Overnight in Oristano.
Day #5: BARUMINI – SAN SPERATE
After breakfast and check-out, depart for Barumini to explore Su Nuraxi, Sardinia’s most important nuragic complex and a UNESCO World Heritage site—a unique testimony of prehistoric Sardinian civilization. In the afternoon, visit San Sperate, a village known for its murals and the Sound Garden, a park of sculptures that transform wind and sounds into art. Arrival in Cagliari.
Day #6: CAGLIARI
Full day dedicated to discovering the Sardinian capital. The Castello district, perched on a hill, features panoramic bastions, medieval streets, and the Cathedral of Santa Maria.
Day #7: CAGLIARI AIRPORT
After check-out, transfer to Cagliari Airport and return the rental car.
