SIMPLE CALABRIA

6 days and 5 nights

The adjective “simple” may be the most fitting to describe this land in Southern Italy. Calabria, still characterized by a largely family-oriented tourism, can offer unforgettable experiences to those who love nature, adventure, history, and stories tinged with legend. This tour highlights all these aspects, weaving together the most popular destinations with lesser-known ones, revealing the beauty of Calabria at every stop.

Day #1: LAMEZIA AIRPORT – COSENZA
Independent arrival at Lamezia Terme Airport, pick-up of the rental car, and drive to Cosenza for hotel check-in.

Day #2: COSENZA – AMANTEA
Meet your guide for a visit to the old town of Cosenza. At first glance, the city may seem neglected, but it holds a rich and valuable history and a cultural heritage well worth rediscovering. In the afternoon, continue to Amantea for a short visit to its charming historic center. Afterwards, drive to Tropea and check into the hotel for the overnight stay.

Day #3: ZUNGRI – TROPEA
After breakfast, depart for Zungri, an ancient rural village inland, where you’ll take part in a hands-on bread and pasta workshop with one of the most emblematic figures of Calabrian cuisine. In the afternoon, return to Tropea for a visit to its historic center: the “Pearl of the Tyrrhenian”, famous for the Sanctuary of Santa Maria dell’Isola and the deep-rooted traditions linked to its renowned red onion.

Day #4: GERACE – PENTIDATTILO
After check-out, depart for the Aspromonte National Park and reach the beautiful village of Gerace, one of the most beautiful in Italy, known as the “holy acropolis of Calabrian Christianity.” After an enjoyable wine tasting in a local winery, continue to Pentidattilo, a hauntingly charming ghost village nestled among the rocks. In the evening, arrive in Scilla, check in at the hotel, and overnight.

Day #5: SCILLA – REGGIO CALABRIA
The morning is dedicated to a guided tour of the picturesque village of Scilla, with its pastel-colored houses overlooking the sea and the legends surrounding the myth of Cocalo and the Sirens. In the afternoon, continue with your guide to Reggio Calabria to visit the famous National Archaeological Museum of Magna Graecia, home to the Riace Bronzes — timeless symbols of ancient Greek art.

Day #6: LAMEZIA AIRPORT
After check-out, drive to Lamezia Terme Airport, return the rental car, and departure.

End of services.
